Brief History:

Scarborough Athletic FC currently plays it’s football 17-miles down the east coast at Bridlington Town’s Queensgate Stadium.
The club was formed by supporters’ society Seadog Trust following the liquidation of Scarborough FC in June 2007.

The B2B Steering Group Constitution

1.       Name

From 27th December 2009 the name of the campaign is Back2Boro or B2B (the campaign herein). The address of the campaign shall be that of the office of Scarborough Athletic FC (the club herein). The club, and therefore campaign address is 1 Red Scar Drive, Scarborough, YO12 5RQ.


2.       Objective

a.       To raise awareness both nationally and locally of Scarborough Athletic FC’s efforts to return home to the Borough of Scarborough

b.      To raise funds to assist with the return home

c.       To fully support and promote the activities of the football club


3.       Steering Group

The campaign shall be managed and controlled by a steering group, which will be responsible for the campaign activities. Members of the board of directors of Scarborough Athletic FC shall sit on the group, to ensure clarity between both campaign and club. The group shall meet regularly as required. Voting on any matter will be by a show of hands. In the event of a tie the chair of the meeting will have the casting vote. (The chair should not vote in the main show of hands). Steering Group members failing to attend three (3) consecutive meetings without good reason will be presumed to have resigned from their post. A minimum of five (5) steering group members will form a quorum for normal meetings.

4.       General Meetings

a.       The campaign shall in each year, hold an Annual General Meeting and there shall be no more than eighteen (18) months between one A.G.M. and the next.

b.      A meeting may be summoned at any time by the steering group

c.       At least fourteen (14) days notice will be given of all General Meetings. The notice will give the time and place, and in the case of an Extraordinary General Meeting, the purpose of the meeting.

d.      No business shall be transacted at any General Meeting unless a quorum of members is present at the time when the meeting proceeds to business. Seven (7) members shall form a quorum for an A.G.M.


5.       Accounts

The campaign Treasurer shall work alongside the Club Treasurer to keep proper books of accounts in respect of all assets, liabilities, receipts and expenditure of the campaign. The campaign accounts shall sit within the accounts of Scarborough Athletic FC at present, until a decision is made to separate accounts if required. Accounts will be audited alongside those of the club.


6.       Winding Up

In the event of the winding up of the campaign, all its monies, assets and other securities shall become property of Scarborough Athletic FC.


7.       Alteration of the Constitution

Any proposed alterations to this constitution must be brought forward to a meeting within notice prior to said meeting.
