Ground Investigations Begin

March 2012

Specialist contractors are currently at the proposed site of the sports village development carrying out ground investigations. The work is expected to last two weeks.

Results from the investigations will then be shared with the three companies which have been shortlisted by Scarborough Council to submit detailed plans for the sports village.

The contractors will be taking borehole samples and drilling trial pits to determine the ground conditions that will assist in any future foundation design.

A decision on the preferred developer is likely to be taken in the autumn, once the three finalists have submitted detailed proposals for the Weaponness site.
